I’m here to help others find a healthy journey as I share mine with you. I know the internet tells me that no one is interested in my story and they’re probably right. That said, I have a lot to share as I travel this journey and I know others can benefit just like I do.
You’ll be able to learn much more about me in my about me page and meet the family and stuff, but for now let’s talk about this healthy journey.
No matter where you are in life, it’s never too late to begin a healthy journey. This could mean food, exercise, mental or financial health. It could be for you or for your family.
Whichever healthy journey you are contemplating or ready to begin, I’m here for you. No area of life is ever perfect so improving along life’s path is always a positive experience.
Healthy Journey with Food
Here at Simply Holistic Life we will supply you with healthy recipes and how to make them. BUT, that’s not enough.
Most folks know we need to eat healthier, quit eating processed foods and eat more naturally.
I’m going to share the journey of how I get there. I will try to do day by day here in my journal. If I miss, I’ll catch up.
This morning I began my healthy journey with food. This included a Shakeology shake and of course, my morning coffee. My little sister gave me the shake stuff and since it’s healthy, I chose it as a good option. I made it with almond milk.
Lunch consisted of a prime rib burger patty and white american cheese from the butcher shop.
Dinner will be a bowl of homemade chili.
Day one, not too bad. Of course, it can and will be a lot better, but I’ve learned not to try to do everything at once. Every time I try to go at something gang busters, the pizzazz fizzles after a short time and I wind up giving up.
Whether it’s weight loss, writing, blogging or setting any new habit, it’s always harder to maintain the fight.
Water – The Basic Necessity of Life
First big deal will be water intake. Thus far today, I’ve had none except for my eight ounce glass with fiberwise this morning. I’m a terrible water drinker.
So as you can guess, hydration is one of my first goals. Pure water will help flush fat from your body. In fact, it’s necessary.
Here’s some more in depth info on water intake, water benefits and its effect on weight and health.
I’ll be back tomorrow with more info on how my food intake went today and what’s planned for tomorrow.
Healthy Home Journey
Some folks may bicker and fuss about what a healthy home really means. Of course, anyone can go overboard as in a plastic bubble kind of living. That’s not really very realistic unless it’s of medical necessity.
But, there are a lot of things we can do to improve the health of our home environment.
In this day and age of toxins around every corner and in the majority of food and products we use, it’s improtant to try and protect ourselves in any way possible.
Although a healthy journey with food is first for me, my healthy home journey will be a close second.
If you’re interested in learning more about my healthy journey of the home, hang out and keep an eye out here for more info.
Financial Health Journey
Financial health is one of those touchy areas. Most folks are extremely closed and protective about talking finances with anyone other than their closest significant other.
That’s totally cool. I get it and I agree. That’s not what we will be doing here. What you will find is information on real ways to save and cut back, plus how to get the most for your dollar.
Trust me, I’m no expert. I’ve suffered greatly due to lack of financial prowess. But, like with other things, what do you do? Pick yourself up and try again. However, it does little good unless you apply some improved knowledge. Another words, you can’t keep doing the same old things and expect different results.
Change is Okay
Embracing change is a scary thing
Anything new or different
It requires effort and a bit of strain
To alter a future for betterment
Don’t run away and hide
It won’t get better that way
Embrace and learn how to
And enjoy a healthier day.
